Shown ar designs and prototypes for a backbone cable for a detection unit resulting from the KM3NeT Design Study. You are free to use these images, provided you mention the source of them as follows: "Propriety KM3NeT Consortium". A new concept for a pressure compensated vertical electro-optical backbone cable for KM3NeT with breakouts at each storey has been worked out during the Design Study. Prototypes of this cable will be built during the Preparatory Phase.
