The first KM3NeT Analysis Meeting at CERN

27 October 2025 – Last week, the KM3NeT Collaboration gathered at CERN,  in Geneva, for its autumn Analysis Meeting, the first of its kind.

During five days, intense discussions and detailed presentations covered the latest developments in data analysis, simulation, calibration, and software for both the ARCA and ORCA detectors. The meeting brought together experts from across the collaboration to review progress on oscillation studies, detector systematics and data processing, as well as to engage in discussions on astrophysical analyses and dark matter searches. Updates on the advancement of the detectors’ construction were also presented.

Several hands-on sessions provided opportunities to work directly on reconstruction tools, machine learning workflows, and data processing and analysis pipelines. The atmosphere was lively throughout the week, with so many results, challenges and new ideas to discuss.

The program included a guided visit to CERN’s Central Control Room and Neutrino Platform, offering a unique look behind the scenes of one of the world’s leading physics laboratories.

During the meeting the KM3NeT Collaboration welcomed the Indian Institute of Technology in Mumbai, with a team coordinated by Manibrata Sen, as a new observer institute.

The Collaboration warmly thanks its Spokesperson, Paul de Jong, and the CERN staff for organising this meeting in an unusual environment for a deep-sea experiment.

Our next meeting will take place in Valencia, Spain, next January.

We look forward to meeting again to continue advancing our understanding of the neutrino universe!
