3D printed DOM gadget where PMTs are LEGO pins:

Here you could find the source of a DOM 3D model where PMTs are LEGO pins. This 3D model has been designed by the CAEN group for the KM3NeT-ANTARES collaboration meeting in Caen, 2025. The model is made with FreeCAD v1.0.0.

Printing instruction
The 3 stl’s are made to be printed with 0.2 mm layers. There are holes in both sides of the DOMs to host a 10×3 mm round magnet, in order to hold the two sides together. In 0.2mm layer, the pause to put the magnet should be set at the transition between layer 19 and 20 for the bottom part, and between 20 and 21 for the top part. The top part is made of two pieces (the core and the ‘mushroom‘) that should be glued together.

To do the DOM, you need to print:

In addition, you’ll find a DU attachment (DOM_lego_pins_v1_DU_attachment.stl) stl that can be used to snap the DOM on 2 lines.
