20 November 2020 – The KM3NeT Collaboration has published a new paper, in which we describe in detail the innovative deployment method for KM3NeT detection units.
29 January 2019 – KM3NeT had a good start of 2019. Data taking of the first detection unit of ARCA could be resumed, after the operation of the unit had to be stopped in 2017, because of a fault in the seafloor cable network. Read more
16 May 2016 – During a five day sea campaign last week, two detection units for ARCA were deployed at the Italian KM3NeT site. Read more
8 December 2015: In the early morning of 3 December 2015, scientists and engineers started the installation of KM3NeT, which once completed, will be largest detector of neutrinos in the Northern Hemisphere. Read more
3 Dec 2015: Today, the first full size detection unit for KM3NeT-It has been successfully installed. The 700 m long unit – compactly wound on a spherical launching frame – arrived by ship at the installation site 100 km off-shore Sicily, Italy. There it took a big splash into the Mediterranean Sea and landed safely at the seabed at a depth of 3500 m. Read more
07 May 2014: The first KM3NeT detection was put into operation at the KM3NeT-It installation site, 100 km off the coast of the South East of Sicily, at a depth of 3500 m. Read more
15 Apr 2013: During the first two weeks of April, an extensive qualification programme has been executed to qualify the novel string deployment method of KM3NeT.
